Private Golf Courses in the Rancho Santa Fe Area

Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club

This is my club – where the members are friendly and the golf is challenging. The pros are all excellent. Junior Golf is very active part of the club. Both the men’s and the women’s clubs are very active, and there is always an opportunity to join in a golf activity. My favorite is the Golf Fore Fun on Friday nights in the summer – 1 hour of an informative group lesson followed by wine, heavy hors d’oeuvres and laughs.
  • Year Built – 1927
  • Course Architect: Max Behr
  • Location: 5827 Via de la Cumbre, RSF
  • Phones: Clubhouse: 858-756-1182 / ProShop: 858-756-1182

In 2002 the Club completed a $3.4M renovation of the course In 2008 the Club finished the new Clubhouse and Player’s Clubhouse This beautiful renovation, I feel, is going to add significantly to our real estate values. The course was already considered one of the top 100 golf courses in the U.S. With these two beautiful new clubhouses, the club is not only the best deal in town, but a phenomenal experience. This is a non-equity membership – You must own property in the Covenant to be able to join the golf club.

The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe

The Bridges is an exclusive enclave that was designed and built to preserve the natural habitat and terrain. The community is built around a challenging and beautiful championship golf course. The 35,000sq.ft. Tuscan-style clubhouse completed in 2000 is grand, yet inviting. It has set the bar for other local golf clubs to emulate. When the clubhouse opened, the members were enjoying champagne with the clubhouse behind a huge curtain. When the curtain came down, the music started and an opera singer then sang from the 2nd level balcony! Quite spectacular, but not unexpected at this club! The club prides themselves on details, such as knowing each member’s favorite drink and having it ready for them when they enter the bar. There is even a stash of Oreo cookies in the hallway as a fun thing for a member who loves them!

  • Year Admitted to the SCGA - 1999
  • Architect: Robert Trent Jones, Jr.
  • Location: 18550 Seven Bridges Rd, RSF

This became The Bridges after an unsuccessful attempt by another group to start a golf course. The transformation has been remarkable with no detail overlooked. Its gorgeous Tuscan style 35,000 s.f. clubhouse, completed in 2000, has raised the bar locally for elegant, yet comfortable, dining and entertaining. The staff prides themselves on details, such as knowing each member’s favorite drink and having it ready for them when they enter the bar. Fairbanks Ranch Country Club

Fairbanks Ranch Country Club was built on land owned by City of San Diego. By agreement the club had to develop the unused portion into 9 more holes of golf or return the land to the City. That 9 holes was completed in 2004. The course hosted the 1984 Olympics Equestrian events headed by Prince Phillips of England. The course recovered nicely from the horse divots!
